Comparison · Last updated

Google Play closed testing services, compared.

There is no single best service. If price matters most, TesterBee ($14.99 for 12 testers) and Testers Community ($15 for 15) are the cheapest paid options we found as of October 2026, and swap groups cost nothing but time. If you want your money back when Google refuses, Testers Community and PrimeTestLab both promise a refund.

TestFi, which we run, costs more: $39.99 for 16 testers. What that buys is four spare seats, installs confirmed before the 14 days count, and check-ins at day 7 and day 14 where every tester is asked what they did in the app.

We sell one of the options on this page, so read it with that in mind. Every price and guarantee below was checked on the provider's own site on 4 October 2026. They change often, so check again before you pay.

Why TestFi costs more

What the extra $20 to $25 buys

  1. 01

    Four spare seats

We put 16 testers on your track, not 12. One or two drop-outs leave you above the line instead of restarting the 14 days. Three of the four services in the table start at exactly 12 on their entry plan.

  2. 02

The 14 days count from a checked install

Each tester sends install proof and then confirms they logged in and tried the app before their 14 days start. Opting in alone does not count.

  3. 03

    Notes on real use, twice

On day 7 and day 14 every tester is asked what they did in the app, and you read the notes on your campaign page. From 1 November 2026, a check-in note that does not describe using the app is not paid.

Day 7 check-inExample, not a real tester
Added three habits and set a 9am reminder. It arrived at 10:04 on my Galaxy A54 with battery saver on. The streak screen is clear. I could not find how to rename a habit, so I deleted it and made it again.

Who each one suits

Pick by what you are short of

Price is your main constraint

TesterBee ($14.99 for 12) or Testers Community ($15 for 15). Both are less than half of what we charge.

You want money back if Google says no

Testers Community and PrimeTestLab both promise a refund if production access is refused, and PrimeTestLab lets you take a free retest instead. TesterBee covers refusals that name tester engagement.

You want daily visual proof

onTest sends timestamped screenshots from every device each day.

You have no budget and some time

Swap groups or the Testers Community app. Expect to test other people's apps in return, and recruit well above 12.

You already trust a Fiverr seller

Fiverr can be the cheapest paid option. Run through the questions below before you order.

You need notes on real use, and spare seats

TestFi. You pay more for four spare testers, installs confirmed before the 14 days count, and day 7 and day 14 check-ins where every tester is asked what they did in the app. That is the material the production access form asks for. If fewer than 12 are in on day 14, it runs again free.

The part nobody controls

Google decides production access

Most options on this list can get 12 people opted in. A common refusal is about engagement rather than headcount: the email says testers were not engaged with the app. The production access form asks whether testers used the features, what feedback you collected and what you changed, so the useful question for any provider is what evidence of use you will have at the end. If you have already been refused, start with what to do after a production access rejection.

Whoever you choose, plan for about 17 days before you can apply. Across 112 closed tests on TestFi up to 1 October 2026, 12 testers claimed seats in a median 2.3 hours, but 12 confirmed installs took a median 2.6 days, and the 14 consecutive days only count once 12 are in. The method is on our closed testing data page, and the free closed testing tracker shows which day you are on.

Before you pay anyone

Six questions for any provider

  1. 01What is the total price, including service fees?
  2. 02How many testers above 12, and what happens when one drops?
  3. 03Does the 14-day count start at opt-in, or at a confirmed install?
  4. 04What proof of use do I get back, and does it have dates?
  5. 05What exactly is the guarantee, and what triggers it?
  6. 06Are the testers distinct people on real devices, and in which countries?

The production access form

What Google asks, and what you will have from a TestFi run

Questions paraphrased from Google's Play Console Help. Some of them only you can answer, and we say so.

How easy was it to recruit testers?

Opt-in, install and first-use dates for every tester, in the downloadable report.

Covered

Did testers use all the features?

The steps you gave testers, and their day 7 and day 14 notes on what they actually did.

Covered

Was their usage what you expect from real users?

Two weeks of notes per tester. Whether that matches your audience is your judgement.

Partly

Summarize the feedback and how you collected it

Day 14 feedback from each tester, in one place on your campaign page and in the report.

Covered

What did you change because of the test?

The notes tell you what broke or confused people. Shipping the fix, and noting the version, is yours.

Partly

Who is the app for, and how many installs do you expect?

Nothing. Only you can answer this, and we do not write it for you.

Yours

Filling in the form is still your job, and Google still decides. For how to write strong answers, see what to do after a production access rejection.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Google Play closed testing service?

It depends on what you are short of. For the lowest price, TesterBee ($14.99 for 12 testers) or Testers Community ($15 for 15), as of October 2026. For a refund if Google refuses, Testers Community or PrimeTestLab. For daily screenshots, onTest. For spare seats and written check-ins on how testers used the app, TestFi at $39.99 for 16, which is the one we run.

What is the cheapest way to get 12 testers for Google Play closed testing?

Swap groups and exchange apps cost nothing, but you test other developers' apps in return. The cheapest paid options we found as of October 2026 were Fiverr gigs from $5, TesterBee at $14.99 for 12 testers and Testers Community at $15 for 15.

Which closed testing services refund you if Google refuses production access?

As of October 2026, Testers Community promises approval or your money back, PrimeTestLab offers a free retest or a full refund if the app is not approved, and TesterBee offers a free retest or a refund when the refusal is about tester engagement. onTest has a 3-day money-back guarantee. TestFi does not refund; it runs the test again free if fewer than 12 testers are still opted in on day 14, or if Google refuses because of tester engagement and you forward the email within 7 days after day 14.

Can any service guarantee Google Play production access?

No. Google makes that decision. A service can promise something about its testers, or about your money if Google says no. Read the exact condition before you buy.

How long does Google Play closed testing take with a service?

Plan for about 17 days before you can apply. Across 112 closed tests on TestFi up to 1 October 2026, getting 12 confirmed installs took a median 2.6 days, and the 14 consecutive days come after that. Google says its production access review usually takes seven days or less.

Is it allowed to pay a service for closed testing testers?

Google's requirement sets the number of testers and the 14 days, and it does not say where testers must come from. What matters is that they are distinct real people on real devices who stay opted in and actually use the app.

How we checked

We visited each provider's site on 4 October 2026 and recorded the prices, tester counts and guarantee wording shown there. Where a site showed prices in a local currency, we used the USD price it publishes. Review counts are from Trustpilot on the same day. Fiverr figures come from the first page of Fiverr's closed testing category. TestFi's row describes what our closed test does today, and our timing figures come from 112 closed tests with 368 testers in 50 countries. Spot something out of date? Write to contact@testfi.app and we will fix it.

If you pick us, here is how it runs.

16 testers, $39.99 flat, 12 still opted in on day 14 or the test runs again free, and again free if Google refuses because of tester engagement. Google still makes the call on production access.
